A bit about AIDC and our team

Welcome to Ranong and AIDC - Andaman International Dive Center, the gateway to Thailand's Andaman Sea, Mergui Archipelago in Burma / Myanmar and Andaman Island in India. With more than 15 year’s experience diving this area, we guarantee that you will enjoy your diving experience with us. Our motto is that diving should be Safe, Fun and Friendly. We aim to offer our customers the most professional and personal service in the area. We specialize in liveaboard dive trips to the world famous Similan Islands, Surin Islands, Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon, and Burma, including north of Burma up to Mergui and Burma Banks. 

We are very proud of our Team and you can be sure they will do all they can to make every trip perfect for you. Every single trip for us is special and we pay personal attention to every detail.

Boss

AIDC's owner is Preben from Denmark. With 16 years experience and more than 5000 dives in Thailand and Myanmar alone. His knowledge of the marine environment is excellent and he is personally the boat super-visor and guide on all trips. He also like to make BBQ...

I think the best way to describe Nong is to compare her with a octopus... She is full of energy and do it with big passion. Just to name a few things: Cooking onboard, shopping, pick up people up in airport, bringing people to hotel, official paperwork and and... Ohh I forgot Finance Minister...

Captain

Klab is now back as Captain and have been working for AIDC since the beginning in 2005. Klab is a very experienced Captain (more than 40 years) and know all the divesites. He is a little bit Ding Dong (in a good way...), He like Peanuts... a lot...

Koh Tachai / Koh Bon

Deckhand 1

Soe is doing all the practical things onboard from early morning to late night. You will see him driving dingy, filling tanks, helping divers, cleaning the boat, working in the engine room and so it go on and on... He is very friendly and hardworking, you will see. He start to like cheese...

Cook

Sophon, our cook is probably the most busy guy on board. Doing a 8 day trip he have to prepare around 50 meals in European, Thai and Chinese style. He is also responsible for mixing cocktails on board, so a very important part of the team. Sophon have a lot of experience from his own restaurant in Ranong over the last 15 years.
